Denomination of controlled origin "Morellino di Scansano"

Article 1.
The denomination of controlled origin "Morellino di Scansano" is reserved for a red wine, which meets the conditions and requirements, stipulated by the present production disciplinary.

Article 2.
The wine in concern has to be obtained from the vineyards that are composed of Sangiovese variety.
For the maximum of 15%, there are allowed the varieties recommended or authorized for the province of Grosseto.

Article 3.
The grapes designated for the production of "Morellino di Scansano" have to be grown within the zone that includes the hilly area of the province of Grosseto between the rivers Ombrone and Albegna which encircles in its integrality the commune of Scansano and partially the communes of Manciano, Magliano in Toscana, Grosseto, Campagnatico, Semproniano and Roccalbegna.
This zone is delineated as follows:
From the intersections of the communal border of Scansano, Manciano and Roccalbegna, the border follows to the north of the torrent Fiascone until it reaches the estate of Usi, and continues along the internal road of the Marrucheta and Montecchio estate, it continues along the route Vale Zuccaia, crosses the river Albegna and continues at the communal route Fibbianello in the commune of Semproniano at 470 quote. From this point on, it turns to the east, gets identified with the provincial route of Follonata until Santarello. Then, the border continues to the south, it enters the commune of Manciano following the old route until Poggio Capanne. It continues further south along the route Bagni di Saturnia until it reaches again the provincial route of Follonata, gets identified with until the Stellata stream. It goes up the stream until the quote 191, continues to the south along the route Camporeccia until the fraction Poderi di Montemerano. It crosses the state route n. 323, continues, turns to the southwest and at the old route Dogana it reaches the estate Cavallini. Following the route of Laschi it arrives at the river Albegna at the level of torrent Vivaio. From this point on, the border follows the course of Albegna until Marianaccia, and then it turns to the west, it enters the commune of Magliano in Toscana. It stretches itself along the route Colle di Lupo until Mollino Vecchio, goes up to the northwest along the route of St. Andrea al Civilesco, turns to the south along the route Magliano in Toscana Barca del Granzi. It turns to the west along the route of Osa and follows the communal boundary of Magliano in Toscana until it reaches the state route Aurelia. It continues until the crossroad for Scansano in the locality of Spadino. It follows the route Scansanese until it reaches the border of Scansano in the locality of Magliano. It continues until it gets to the route Cinigianese. It continues within the commune of Campagnatico, until it reaches the estate of Granaione. It continues to the east along the route of Coppaio and Caposasso and in the proximity of the estate Repenti, it reaches the border of the commune Scansano, it follows until the crossroad of Scansano, Manciano and Roccalbegna, indicated as the starting point.
